The Forum is convened by the Tanzanian High Commission in partnership with Invest Africa, a leading business and investment platform that supports financial professionals from the UK, US, UAE and others to capitalise on the untapped potential of many African economies.

The Forum will welcome a senior delegation led by the Tanzanian Prime Minister, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba, which includes representatives from major Tanzanian financial organisations.

The Forum’s agenda reflects the growing diversity of investment opportunities in the Tanzanian economy, ranging from critical minerals and mining, to energy and renewable energy. The latter received a significant boost in August when Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan inaugurated the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Station, a landmark Tanzania-Egypt partnership attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouly. The project is expected to strengthen energy security across Tanzania and the wider region, while reinforcing the growing international partnerships that continue to support the country’s economic development.

The Hydropower Station is the latest impressive infrastructure and development project commissioned by President Samia under her ambitious national Vision 2050. Launched in July 2025, Vision 2050 sets out a roadmap to transform Tanzania into a dynamic, upper-middle-income country. It builds on the prodigious progress the government oversaw in raising living standards across the nation under the previous Vision 2025, which was adopted in 2000.

Vision 2050 is already paying dividends for Tanzanians across the country. Tanzania is East Africa’s most dynamic economy, whose GDP continues to grow at a rate of approximately 5-7%. The sustainability of Tanzania’s growth story is underscored by a recent projection by the International Monetary Fund, which predicted Tanzania’s economy would grow 5.9% in 2026, in spite of global geopolitical and economic instability.

Like many African economies, Tanzania’s long-term growth prospects are underpinned by a young and dynamic population. Nearly 35% of the population is aged 15 and 35, while a further 43% are under the age of 15, providing a long pipeline of future talent. Recognising this advantage, President Samia established a dedicated Ministry of Youth in November 2025 to address key challenges facing young people and help equip them with the skills and tools needed to support the country’s development ambitions.

The Tanzania Investment Forum caps a remarkable few years for Tanzania, which has seen stable economic foundations transform into tangible growth. In London this Thursday, delegates at the Forum can expect to discuss East Africa’s most dynamic investment destination and meet with the decision-makers driving forward this change.
