Dr Charles Bailey Phillips is the founder of Phillips Chiropractic in Macon, Georgia, a clinic he established on 1 March 2002.

His career began after graduating from Life College in 1997, followed by several years working with Brandt Chiropractic in Macon. Those early years gave him the foundation to build his own practice, which he named in honour of his family and its deep ties to Middle Georgia.

From the beginning, Dr Phillips focused on personal care and tailored treatment plans. He saw patients struggling with chronic pain, automobile accident injuries, sports injuries, and neuropathy, and understood that each case required an individual approach. “You can’t offer cookie-cutter care,” he often says. “Every patient’s story is different.”

Under his leadership, Phillips Chiropractic has grown into a trusted clinic with over 100 Google reviews, 98 of them five stars. Patients often highlight the combination of skilled treatment and compassionate care. Dr Phillips is proud that his clinic has become known not just for outcomes, but for the way people feel supported throughout their recovery.

Beyond his practice, he is committed to service. Phillips Chiropractic partners with Wounded Warriors to provide no-cost care to veterans who cannot otherwise afford treatment. The clinic also works with faith-based ministries to extend services to those in need.

For Dr Phillips, chiropractic care is more than a profession. It is a lifelong commitment to relieving pain, restoring confidence, and giving people in Macon and Middle Georgia the chance to live without suffering.

In Conversation with Dr Charles Phillips of Phillips Chiropractic

Q: Can you tell us about your early years and what led you into chiropractic care?

A: I grew up in Macon, Georgia, and always felt a strong connection to this community. After finishing school, I went on to Life College and graduated in 1997. I was drawn to chiropractic because it offered a hands-on way to help people. It wasn’t just about the science, it was about giving people relief and hope.

Q: What was your first experience in the field after college?

A: My first role was with Brandt Chiropractic here in Macon. Those years were important for me. I saw a wide range of cases and learnt that no two patients are the same. One of the first lessons I took away was simple: you can’t apply the same solution to everyone. Each patient needs a plan that fits their condition, their lifestyle, and their goals.

Q: When did you decide to start your own practice?

A: In 2002, I opened Phillips Chiropractic on 1 March. Naming the clinic after my family was important to me because of our roots in this area. Macon and Middle Georgia are home, and I wanted the practice to reflect both my values and the needs of the people here.

Q: What were the early challenges of running your own clinic?

A: Trust. There were already other providers, and people don’t just hand over their health to someone new. It took time to build relationships, but I focused on being consistent. I wanted patients to know that when they came to see us, they would be listened to and treated with respect.

Q: What types of conditions do you see most often today?

A: Many of our patients come in after automobile accidents or sports injuries. We also see a lot of people with chronic joint pain or neuropathy. Pain has such a big impact on daily life. It affects work, family, even confidence. Our job is to help patients move forward step by step.

Q: Neuropathy is a difficult condition to treat. How do you approach it?

A: With patience. Neuropathy doesn’t resolve overnight. It requires consistent care and attention. But when you see a patient begin to walk more comfortably again, or regain mobility they thought was lost, it is very rewarding.

Q: Your clinic has many positive reviews online. What does that mean to you?

A: Honestly, it means the world. We have over 100 reviews, and 98 of them are five stars. People mention not only the treatment but also how they were treated as people. That tells me we are making a real difference. It’s not just about outcomes, it’s about the experience.

Q: Community involvement seems important to you. Can you share more about that?

A: Absolutely. Through Wounded Warriors, we provide no-cost care for veterans who can’t afford it. We also connect with faith-based ministries to reach people who might otherwise go without treatment. For me, community isn’t something you talk about, it’s something you live.

Q: How would you describe your leadership style within the clinic?

A: I try to lead by example. Compassion and professionalism are at the centre of what we do, and that’s what I expect from my team. Every staff member knows our mission: to relieve pain, promote recovery, and improve lives.

Q: Looking back on more than two decades in practice, what stands out the most?

A: The stories. People walk in with pain and leave with hope. Seeing that transformation never gets old. It’s why I still love this work.

Q: And what about the future of chiropractic care in Macon?

A: As the community grows, the need for quality care will only increase. My goal is to keep serving with the same principles that guided me from the start: service, compassion, and excellence. Chiropractic isn’t just about the spine. It’s about the whole person.
