Aberdeen’s MRS Training & Rescue is enhancing its commitment to worker safety by significantly increasing its training resources at the Bridge of Don facility.

With more than 120 years of experience in health and safety training, MRS Training & Rescue has boosted its staffing levels by 30% at its state-of-the-art Aberdeen centre.

Andy Watson, Operations Manager at MRS Aberdeen, highlighted the impressive 49% growth the business has experienced in the past year, indicating that local employers are prioritising safety training for their employees. “Many employers recognise the potential dangers of working in confined spaces and are taking steps to mitigate the risk. However, statistics show that about 15 people in the UK are killed each year while working in confined spaces. We are increasing our resources so local employers have the tools they need to help bring that number down to zero,” Watson stated.

MRS Training & Rescue collaborates closely with employers to identify workplace hazards, assess risks, implement control measures, and ensure the safety of their workforce. The organisation proudly serves prominent employers in Aberdeen, such as Scottish Water, Morrison Construction, Shell, SSE, TAQA, Ineos FPS, and the Scottish Ambulance Service. Additionally, MRS supports local non-profit organisations by providing complimentary first aid training.

“We are proud to be part of the community, serving employers in Aberdeen and ensuring everyone in this community gets home safe from work each day,” Watson added.

The Bridge of Don training centre, which opened in 2022, offers comprehensive training programmes across several industries. The facilities are specifically designed for height and confined spaces training, as well as first aid courses, and feature several dedicated classrooms for theoretical instruction.

By expanding its resources and capabilities, MRS Training & Rescue is reinforcing its mission to enhance workplace safety and support the well-being of local workers in Aberdeen and beyond.
