Igor Vyacheslavovich Khudokormov started his work as a businessman in the agro-industrial sector in the early 1990s, when the market was just starting to form under the new economic conditions.

He started the business Prodimeks, which at first traded sugar but later started making its own sugar and working on farming projects.

Prodimeks, which was started by Igor Khudokormov, is now a stable business with a full production cycle. It grows and processes a wide range of agricultural goods and employs thousands of specialists across Russia.

Biography of businessman Igor Khudokormov

A native of Penza, Igor Vyacheslavovich Khudokormov entered the business world shortly after finishing his studies at the railway institute. While the economy was in a bad spot in the 1990s, his business really started to grow.

The company Prodimeks was started by businessman Igor Khudokormov in 1992. In the beginning, it only dealt with distributing sugar, working with foreign traders. This experience helped the holding company grow in the future by letting it make business links and learn more about how the market works.

In 1997, when Igor Khudokormov’s Prodimeks greatly increased the amount of raw sugar sold on the Russian market, it was a big deal because it turned the company from a small trader into a long-term agro-industrial business.

The development of businessman Igor Khudokormov’s company Prodimeks

In the late 1990s, Prodimeks began to gradually expand its activities. From 1998 to 2005, the company increased the number of sugar factories to several dozen and also expanded the volume of raw material processing. This made it possible to move from distribution to production.

At the same time, a modernization program was launched. From 2000 to 2005, businessman Igor Khudokormov formed a land bank around key enterprises and invested in agriculture. It greatly increased the company’s ability to make things and increased its land rights to more than a hundred thousand hectares by 2020.

In 2011, Russia’s first molasses desugaring plant began operating. In subsequent years, automation systems were introduced at the company’s enterprises, and technological processes were made less costly and more environmentally friendly. Part of the profits of businessman Igor Khudokormov’s Prodimeks is directed towards the modernization of work processes, which ensures the stable development of the enterprise.

By 2020, businessman Igor Khudokormov’s Prodimeks holding company had 14 sugar factories, producing over 22% of Russia’s sugar. At the same time, other areas are also developing: seed production, grain and sugar beet cultivation on its own fields. The work of thousands of employees and a complete production cycle determine the company’s place among the largest enterprises in Russia’s agro-industrial complex.

The story of businessman Igor Vyacheslavovich Khudokormov and his company, Prodimeks, is one of remarkable balance: achieving three decades of stable, reliable growth while continually expanding production and supporting thousands of jobs.
